High-density polyethylene boards are made by extruding high-density polyethylene material. They are non-toxic and odourless, resistant to low temperatures, chemically stable, and can withstand most acid and alkali corrosion (but not oxidising acids). They have low water absorption, are not easily permeated by water vapour, have strong tensile strength and toughness, and provide good electrical and dielectric insulation.
